Access to property is by county road and can be restricted by locked gate if all neighbors agree.
Elevation Topography Vegetation
The ranch is flat to rolling at an elevation of 8500-8800 ft across the mountains overlooking Guadalupita Canyon covered with stands of thick timber interspersed with open meadows of high mountain grasses, draws and natural and man-made surface ponds.
Recreation
The ranch offers many recreational opportunities such as ATVing, hiking, horseback riding, hunting, wildlife viewing and simply relaxing in the outdoors. Snow skiing and golfing are found within an hour of the ranch at Angel Fire Ski and Golf Resort. Angel Fire is 4th in snowfall of all New Mexico ski resorts and has 80 runs. It also has the state’s best terrain park and only night skiing.

Located in GMU 46, Coyote Creek Ranch collectively with neighboring parcels currently receives 4 either sex and 4 cow elk tags. Owners represent they have inquired with New Mexico Game and Fish and it was represented each 350+/- acre parcel could qualify for up to 5 tags each. Buyer to verify the information for their purposes prior to closing. 400+ class bulls have been taken near the property. In addition, there is deer, bear, lion and lots of turkeys. The area due to having good sources of water is a natural draw for wildlife.

There is excellent fishing nearby at Coyote Creek State Park and Eagle Lake is just an hour drive offering great lake fishing.

Legen has it that the name, Angel Fire, originates from the Utes who witnessed a red glow on the tip of Agua Fria Peak during one of their ceremonial celebrations and said it was a blessing from the fire of gods. Later it became known as "the place of the fire of the angels". With a population of just 1,216 full time residents, Angel fire is a great location for ski enthusiast who want to get away from the big ski resorts.
